the Health Adventure! Our little friends can lend a hand
while we make “Beary cool” ornaments and crafts to take
home. Should the little guy need a break, bring him over to

Fletcher is looking for participants for
their sixth annual Chili Cook-Off. The event will be held in
the cafeteria at Veritas Christian Academy. Individual cooks
and businesses can enter their chili into a competition in
the following categories: Best Overall, Best Individual,
Best Business, Honorable Mention, People’s Choice and Best
Table Decoration. Prizes and ribbons will be awarded.

Before email,
before television, before the telephone, there was the
picture postcard. Postcards combine personal communication,
advertising and entertainment in a package that is easily
affordable for local attractions to create and within the
means of the average individual to purchase and mail to
friends and family. The Asheville Art Museum is open 10:00
a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday and 1:00 p.m. to
5:00 p.m. on Sunday. The Museum is open every Friday until
8:00 p.m. Special docent-guided tour packages are available
for groups and students. The Museum is located in the Pack
Place Education, Arts and Science Center, 2 South Pack
Square, in downtown Asheville. Admission to the Museum is
$6.00 for adults and $5.00 for seniors, students with ID and
for children 4-15 (children age three and younger are
admitted free). Members are admitted free to the Museum

The Asheville Arts Center is enrolling
children and adults for its Spring 2007 season, which begins
Jan. 8. Students may chose from a variety of classes in
drama, dance and art as well as the Children’s Theatre
Workshop productions. Private music and voice lessons are

- - The youngest visitors
to The Health Adventure will become movers and shakers in
the upcoming Little Builders traveling exhibit, which will
be on display from January 19 through May 6, 2007. Donning
little hard hats and construction vests, children ages 2
through 7 will create, play and learn as they explore the
concepts of construction, motion and simple machines. The
Health Adventure, founded in 1968, is a nonprofit family
health and science museum for today’s families with a
mission to improve health awareness, promote wellness
lifestyles, and increase science literacy through programs
