Earth Day Poster Contest
Location: WNC Nature Center
Sponsor: WNC Nature Center

Design a poster with any Earth Day theme and bring it to the Nature Center between April 3rd and the 7th. All the posters will be displayed druing our Wonders of Water Celebration being held Saturday April 8th. Each entry will receive a ribbon and certificate of accomplishment. School Bus Safety Poster Contest thru May 15

Each year, the National School Bus Safety Week (NSBSW) Committee conducts a poster contest to help publicize NSBSW. National judging takes place in the fall for a poster to be used the following year. This spring, the N.C. Department of Public Instruction is sponsoring a statewide poster contest. Winning entries will be displayed at www.ncbussafety.org and the top poster from each division will be submitted for the national poster contest. Visit www.ncbussafety.org for more info.

Story's performance, entitled “Earth As Art”, illuminates the beauty of planet Earth with a multi-media presentation that includes 160 slides he shot while in space. A veteran of six space flights, having flown on all five of NASA's shuttles, Story Musgrave is sure to offer a unique interpretation of the beauty and art of the Earth.

Description: The Learning Community School students will perform Meredith Wilson’s, “The Music Man” at 6 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday at Carver Community Center, 101 Carver St., Black Mountain. With the entire K-8 student body participating, the show promises to offer good-hearted family fun. There will also be a raffle and a silent auction. Tickets are $5 each or $20 per family.
